Ping Tung Spelling Bee 2010

Congratulations to all the spellers who competed in this year’s spelling bee, which was held in Qian Xi Park, Ping Tung. 
First off was the advanced levels and after they had gone through all their words and the alternative words were being asked,
the winner was Biffy who correctly spelled ‘misspelled’. Abby got second place after forgetting to add the extra ‘s’ in ‘misspelled’.

在此要先恭喜這次我們在屏東千禧公園舉辦的全能拼字王中所有的參賽者們完成了這項比賽。首先是高階班出場,他們考完了所有我們準備的單字以及額外出的一些更困難的單字後,Biffy因為拼對了”misspelled”這個字而獲得第一名,Abby則因為忘了加s,而得到了第二名。

Next up was the level one and twos and after a few tough rounds Kevin came second after misspelling 'please' and Yoyo walked away with the first prize of NT$ 200.  Level eleven and twelve’s started off strongly with only one student being eliminated in the first five rounds. The last four remaining spellers went into the advanced level words. These are words which they didn’t study for and after they got through two anticipated winning rounds (where they all misspelled the word twice) Sabrina, Nicky and Betty shared first place after they spelled all the words right, even those of the next level.

下一個出場的是Level 1與Level 2的小朋友,經過艱難的幾回合後,Kevin得到了第二名,第一名則由Yoyo拿走,並贏得了200元禮卷。Level 11與Level 12的競爭非常激烈,一直到第五回合都只有一位小朋友被淘汰。最後剩下的四位小朋友甚至考到了沒教過的高階班單字, 以及進階賽也到了第二回合後,有三位小朋友都拼對了所有單字,所以Sabrina, Nicky與Betty並列第一名。

The next round of competitors arrived and first up was the level three and fours.  Most of the boys fell out and in the end Vicky came first by correctly spelling ‘monster’ and Zoe took the second spot.  The level five and sixes took a while to sort through and the competition was tight as everyone just kept on spelling the words without any mistakes.  After going into the level seven and eight words the second place went to Lilly and the first place spot belonged to Betty.

接下來是Level 3與Level 4,大部分的男孩子們很遺憾的,都被淘汰了,Vicky因為拼對了”monster”而得到了第一名,第二名則是得到了第二名。Level 5與Level 6的比賽花費了較多的時間,因為沒有任何一位小朋友有出錯,所以出題老師問到了Level 7與Level 8的單字後,才有小朋友被淘汰,第二名是Lily,第一名則是由Betty抱走。

Last but not least were the level seven and eight spellers.  After a few silly mistakes by a few of the spellers, which made them fall out of the competition, Joy forgot the ‘u’ in occupation and Angie walked away with the cash prize while Ray got the coupon for the second place.  Well done to all the spellers and a big thanks to all the parents that came out to support our Spelling Bee!

最後出場的是Level 7與Level 8的比賽,有幾位小朋友犯了粗心的錯誤而被淘汰後,Joy因為在寫”occupation”時忘記加”u”而成為第三名,Ray得到第二名的飲料對換卷,第一名則由Angie抱走。
