Taiwan is an island that is 395 kilometers long by 144 kilometers wide.  It sits 160 kilometers east of mainland China. The Taiwan territory, which is run by a democratic form of government, is made up of several islands, as well as the Penghu archipelago.

The Taiwanese are friendly, and they treat their "honorable" foreign guests with kindness and respect.  As long as foreign visitors are congenial and act respectfully toward their hosts, they will leave Taiwan with cherished friends and treasured memories.
